What should i do, about returning to church after 7 years?

I'm almost 16 and i feel like i need a closer relationship with God, but no one else in my family does. To complicate things more I don't know what church i should to because i was baptized Episcopalian but never went there, we went to a United Methodist Church until i was eight but my mom thinks i should go to a Lutheran church because that's what her whole family is. Im confused !
