How much do you REALLY have to work out?

My doctor said 1 hour, 5 days a week....Honestly? I have a full time job and it's hard for me to fit all that in. She's a doctor, not a fitness expert of nutritionist. I just want to know how much excersising is REALLY neccessary order to loose weight?
