In Pokemon pearl, Whats a good pokemon to put in the daycare centre?

Actually no when you put a Pokemon in the daycare it gains levels and lays eggs. You should get a ditto because the Pokemon paired with it in the daycare lays and egg which is the first evolution of it ex ditto+Empoleon= Piplup. Yes you have to have male and female paired.
