I love my husband dearly, but we are always fighting..............?

I am glad that your husband finally got on his medications - it will help so much for the future of your marriage and both of your happiness; otherwise, honestly, you would have been a single mom, whether you stayed married or not. However, it sounds like you could both benefit from some couples counseling to help work through some of the hurt that was caused when his mental illness was untreated in the past, and also to work through the current issues such as his anxiety and your frustration. I also recommend NAMI support groups for families of people with mental illness, so that you will not feel so alone in being the spouse of someone with a mental illness. And you can still have health boundaries, i.e., it is not okay for him to call you nasty names, period, or you will leave for the night and stay with a friend. But I recommend counseling because it sounds like sometimes you are also the one to escalate the situation. Best wishes!
