I want to set up my aquarium as an Amazon type...?

I have a (2ft.6in.long) (1ft wide) (1ft. 6in. high) 30 to 35 gallon aquarium what kind of plants are good to get and fish I also woul like to get brackish water if possible to make the fish feel even more comfortable I know where to get them it's in San Diego I'm in Palm Springs
